Hello everyone, A part of my internship is based on the update of the social media of Engage, the society in which I work. Before starting my internship I clearly underestimated the role of social media in the working field and the impact they can have on business, social and personal decisions. As you certainly know, every society and association MUST have a page on the most popular social media : Twitter and Facebook. Social media, are indeed the most direct way to interact with general audience and sensitize and gain the support of people that aren’t in their network yet. Social media strengthen the media impact of organizations, but they can do more than that. They can bring in new customers or clients and help you better serve your current customers. They also allow you to communicate with your audience quickly and easily. Here are some tips for writing impacts posts [1] :
The impact of the social media involves various sectors including scientific research. Social media can be used to share informations about your work and the progression of it (as we did with Tamara during the Biosensors month). There are more and more labs that share their informations on social media (of course when their content is not private) and this allows them to communicate more easly with others labs that are studying the same subjects. During my internship I had the opportunity to exchange with Lucas Delattre, who is responsible of communication at IFM (Institut Français de la Mode), and he told me that a little lab in North Carolina has done a partnership with l’Oréal thanks to a single tweet. There is a great number of examples of partnerships, businesses or exchanges that were born thanks to social media. Hello, Régine ! I'm enthusiastic to see your progression in the community manager . Personnally when people/company or other association are always active on my Facebook or twitter page, i go delete their page of my list, to not have spam ! Howether
